Danny Bruce Lowman, age 72, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and dedication to his family. Born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, Danny was a lifelong resident who took great pride in his roots.A proud graduate of the University of South Carolina, Danny built a remarkable, dedicated career. He began working at the Southern Pump and Tank Company (SPATCO) in 1975 and spent 41 years with the company, retiring in 2016. Outside of his professional life, Danny was an avid outdoorsman. He found his greatest peace and joy in nature, whether he was hunting, fishing, or meticulously working in his yard.Danny was a deeply devoted family man. He shared 51 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Linda Hill Lowman. He was a loving father to Nancy Lowman White and Susan Lowman Strother. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Dorothy Lowman.In addition to his wife and daughters, Danny is survived by his brothers, Rodney Lowman, Larry Lowman, and David Lowman. 

He was a proud grandfather to Eric Ayala, David (Mikey) Strother III, Jacob Ayala, Brandon Strother, and Gabrielle Strother, and a cherished great-grandfather to Delilah Strother. His family will forever remember his strength, his love for the outdoors, and his unwavering devotion to those he held dear.The family will hold a private funeral service.

 The family welcomes friends and family to visit and share memories at the family home on Sunday, August 16th from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to be made payable to the USC Educational Foundation and mailed to USC Development, 1600 Hampton Street, 7th floor; Columbia, SC 29208. Please place “In memory of Danny B. Lowman” on the designation line of the check. Funds will be placed in holding for future teaching tools at the university to provide specific needs in the medical field caring for the patients and family suffering from dementia through the Brain Health Network (NHB).
